xx Boris

Through my internship, collaborations, projects across city’s and my job as a bar manager  I have tested how place and people shift the way I work (both positive and negative). Each environment reveals something new, not just about design but about how I relate to the world. Whether that is in co-writing speculative futures, building synthesizers, working with ambient music or curating visual identities for clubs, I find meaning in connecting the intimate to the communal. EXPAND ON THIS PART !!!!!  --- ----------------------------------------------------------------------

My work is rooted in a desire to explore the in-between; analogue and digital, sound an image, individual and collective. Narrative and abstraction. Whether I am developing film to visualise invisible systems or creating typefaces inspired by cities. My process starts with the question; what if and why shouldn’t i? CHANGE LAST SENTENCE =CRINGE

book design and (experimental) publishing are the core of my curiosity. I constantly am looking for forms of sharing knowledge that isn’t the usual screen or piece of paper. I imagine publications as objects, events and conversations, hybrid spaces where design becomes some sort of vehicle for storytelling, reflection and connection. Design is a tool for me to build narratives; ones that can be personal and open at the same time.

As a graphic designer, I often feel overwhelmed by the abundance of possibilities within the field. Over time this flood of potential has become less of a burden and more as a spark of excitement in itself, something to shape, question and reflect through my practice.

Ultimately, my design practice is not just about making, but about listening, interpreting and translating. I’m interested in how we can design presence and contexts. How can I ensure that it doesn’t get lost in translation.
